When it comes to receiving or purchasing foreign currency, it is highly likely that we can offer a better choice than what you can get from the big banks.
The exchange rates offered by the big banks to our customers in the past did not seem to take into account either the value of an individual transaction or the total value of the relationship over time.
Our philosophy is to offer all customers highly competitive rates of exchange - our rates are normally sharper by between 10 to 50 basis points. On transactions of NZ$10,000 or more, you could literally save hundreds of dollars. Many of our clients have saved thousands.
Our rates are better because we partner with some of the industry’s leading foreign exchange providers (to get volume discounts) and by using the international banking system. Combined with low overheads (when compared to the banks), our rates are almost always sharper than the main banks.
Our telegraphic transfer fees are also smaller, at the low cost of $15 as compared to $25 typically charged by the banks. If your transaction is in excess of NZ$8,000, we will even pay the telegraphic transfer fees on your behalf Yes, that means it is FREE.
In terms of receiving foreign currency payments from overseas, in most cases there are no telegraphic transfer fees charged at all when the funds are received in New Zealand (the sending party will still incur charges from their bank.)
PSL FX is a registered Financial Services Provider as required by recently introduced Government legislation and our FSP Register Number is FSP44164. For Australian based customers, we operate an office in Sydney and also comply with all Australian Government requirements.
